Frequently Asked Questions

One of our most common questions is “do you install”?

Our products are designed to be installed easily either by our customers or contract
service providers, e.g. locksmiths, our customers already work with. While a total frame replacement can cost several thousand dollars, the Door Innovation products provide a cost effective alternative to traditional solutions for corroded or rusted door frames.

Jamb Patch FAQs

The Jamb Patch works with many of the most common masonry steel door frames. For more details and dimensions, please refer to the product dimensions found in the product specifications.

Most frames that are susceptible to rust are located in an exterior opening of a building, and most exterior frames do not require or carry a fire rating. The Jamb Patch does not carry a fire-rating label. If the repair applies to a fire rated frame, the authority with local jurisdiction, such as the fire marshal, must be consulted prior to proceeding.

Before proceeding with the repair, we suggest consulting your local building inspector.

The Jamb Patch is made from galvannealed steel and typically extends the of life for the repaired portion of the frame for many years.

The Jamb Patch can be installed by anyone with basic mechanical skills. A skilled door technician is not required. Another option is to use the customer’s existing building maintenance trades, e.g. locksmith, painter, etc.

The installation time for one Jamb Patch usually takes anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. Both sides of a frame can typically be repaired in less than three hours.

We are not currently developing additional variations of the Jamb Patch product. However, if you require a different size or configuration, please let us know as we may be able to address your need. Note: Minimum order sizes may apply for custom products.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
